Clifford the Big Red Dog follows the heartwarming and hilarious “tails” of Emily Elizabeth and everyone’s favorite loveable giant pup, Clifford. Starting as a tiny puppy, he quickly grew into a dog the size of a house all thanks to Emily Elizabeth’s unconditional love. Now, the best friends have traded their bustling New York City apartment for adventures in their new home on the spacious Birdwell Island. Here, they meet new friends, make exciting discoveries, and have plenty of larger than life fun!

In 1963, Norman Bridwell created what would become one of America’s most beloved characters, Clifford the Big Red Dog. There are currently more than 134 million Clifford books in print in 19 languages distributed worldwide. The series is comprised of multiple aspects inspired by Bridwell’s life, including the premise which is based on his childhood desire for “a dog the size of a horse”. He chose the name Clifford based on his wife Norma’s childhood imaginary friend of the same name, and Emily Elizabeth is named after the couple’s daughter.
